Oh, what makes you say it's fake....or rather, what makes your friend say it's fake? Where did HE get it?

NJ, if this is the case, I think that the FAKE is a REAL FAKE. And if the FAKE is FAKE and not REAL, then what happens?

Why confused? This whole situation is 0% confusing. He got it from his uncle, who got it in China, and is REAL but FAKE.

Hope this helps.

In all seriousness, are you sure you are using the right number as the PIN? And not one of the other cuple numbers?

My head hurts. I think I am going to read some old Galvatron posts to reduce my headache.

Doesn't mean it's fake. It could have been a pre-production model that was leaked and was blacklisted by RIM. Or maybe it was reported as lost/stolen?

I thought the only way RIM would blacklist a device was if it was stolen. What do you mean by pre-production model? Like a device someone got that worked with RIM and then then the just shut off service too it after testing?

A while ago, before the Bold was released officially, there were a bunch of them being sold on eBay. They were all pre-production models. RIM blacklisted them all. So everyone that paid top dollar to get a device before it came out were left with nice paperweights.

Not if it's been blacklisted. Where did your uncle get it?
