Default double spacing in address book

Please Login to Remove!

Just upgraded my Curve to 4.5.0.81 and noticed the terrible double-spacing in the address book. After a quick google it appears that nothing can be done to change this. Why o why do developers do this sort of thing?

Because they're human and can't always anticipate that someone will have a strong preference about a particular feature. Even with careful planning and testing you can't please all the people all the time.

Granted, it would be ideal if you could fully customize the address book view (and all views) but that wasn't possible in prior OS's either.

OP is referring to the fact that the address book also lists the contact's company. If your contacts are personal and don't have a company specified it looks like double spacing.

Work it your advantage. Add notes in the company space on personal contacts. I keep the numbers of often called businesses like Autozone or BevMo and I put the city in the company name so I know which one it is since they all have the same name. So now when I am at my parents house I know which BevMo is local to call.

I don't like the double spacing either. Just one of the many annoying but bearable things. At some point they'll have to fix some of those or some other device will come along and be good enough to tip the scale that way.
