Default Updating to Other Versions

Please Login to Remove!

I see that there is a 10.0.10.90 version out, but I can't seem to find a way to update to it like we could for the old devices. I keep reading that's always tied to the SIM now. Can anyone can say that for sure?

I haven't found any other way. You need a SIM - it doesn't even have to be active on the network.

Bizarre. Apparently .90 is making it's way around Australia and the UK, so hopefully it will be here soon. I have several UK SIMs, but the device is locked to Ma Bell, so that won't help. My main concern is more battery tweaks. I know it will get better after more charge cycles, but supposedly this version has a lot more tweaks for battery improvement.

My expectation is that AT&T will release it shortly - or perhaps one newer.
Battery life has been good since I went to .88

.88 isn't bad, I'd just like it to be a little closer to the Lumia.

And now it appears that .99 is out...

Yep. I miss the old days of deleting vendor.xml. LOL

Some developers are running their LEs without SIMs and so can't update at all. This was brought up to BlackBerry who are looking into a solution. Don't know if that solution would work for power users who want to upgrade before their carrier clears the new software or not.

I've always wondered what the carriers thought of users being able to grab an update just because it had been approved by another carrier. Maybe they weren't all that enthused by the concept.
