all you do is install the google app on the blackberry and all of teh changes you have made on the PC will be there

you can only make the required changes on a regular PC. but the results show up in BB after you install google talk

I've just followed the steps to add my MSN contacts into my Google Talk client. So far so good ... I had dozens of system messages to click through initially but now it's all good. I'm able to see the online/offline status of my contacts and send messages to the online users.

A few initial observations:

1) The MSN screen names do not translate through; instead, the contacts are displayed via there email addresses (although, contacts may be manually renamed).

2) I was playing with Google Talk (responding to the 44 pending system messages I had) while on the phone and at one point i was booted off my telephone call and Google Talk started a flurry of network activity which lasted close to a minute (my send/receive arrows were continuously flickering). I will have to play more to see if I can recreate this.

3) There are no ring/vibe alerts for incomming Google talk messages. Hopefully Google will build that into upcomming releases.

Spoke too soon ... ring/vibe options have been added to each profile and are fully configurable for in/out holster settings ... very nice.

I did the AIM contacts, and got a slew of them, some hundred or so names, but they all appear offline when logged on locally on the computer via PSI, and on the googletalk I can't tell if they're online or what.

okay, i logged out of GT on the BB and logged back in, I can see all the AIM names in my friends list, but they're offline?

I logged into the AIM client on the PC and they're there.

i was able to get yahoo working after trying a few different methods

I found that when i logged off google talk on my main pc, i had issues connecting back up through to all of the services on the BB.

But, as soon as i got google talk back up - on a completely different computer than i did the initial jabber setup, they popped back.

I guess i'll just have to leave it on

Still having the problem with my AIM clients not showing up in GT on the BB, also I can't seem to find my GT service book?

Mind you recently I updated to the Zen theme OS 4.1 a few days ago.

mine is working pretty flawlessly as long as i leave google talk logged in on a desktop machine.

Only feature i'm not to hot on at the moment is the "discussions" part. I have to close them constantly or otherwise my im list gest over run - i guess maybe it becomes a who do i talk to most list if it just stays up

I logged into GT on the desktop computer, all my aim contacts are listed, those that are online are shown, but on the BB they're not on there as being online.

I still don't see the GT service book, any way to get that back? Maybe thats what I need?

So far so good on mine ... I'm using it exclusively for MSN and, after running it pretty heavily last night and this morning, I have no real complaints.

To my MSN contacts I appear as Online (although my avatar is a picture of a lightbulb ...) and all of my contacts apper as Online/Away/DND/Offline. I can also read the personal status message for each user.

After installing and configuring my contacts through the Psi application on my desktop I shut down the program and have not kept anything running on the desktop side.

I have to say, this is a beautiful addition to the Google Talk application; thanks for posting this pho!

I just ran thru the install and things seem to be purring. I have aim, yahoo, msn all showing and able to communicate with each using GT.

Very nice, i must say.

I have the same problem with AOL, some contacts are not showin up even though i know that they are online. I think it has something to do with the ursine.ca transport.
