I use to, but my wife kept thinking that green meant go.
Now we have 3 kids.

Can someone tell me how to turn off the service light? I have a red flashing light and a blue one when the bluetooth is on. I'd like to have this feature turned off.

Thanks in advance

I always thought that was called the n00bie light. It's like a silent beacon on the bus screaming "hi, I'm new to the BB please come help me". RIM totally did this on purpose, it's onna them there subversive things I read about in the papers.

Is there a 'reverse' service light option? If I remember correctly, on my old Palm Treo I could set it to start blinking when there was no signal. Would be nice on a Blackberry.

No service light here, either. I loved my old 7250 - that message indicator light would go for days...

That was the first thing I turned off on my first two berries. If I recall correctly, my 8830 came with it turned off.

God no....it is so annoying. It even annoys me when others have it on and twice I have stopped random people asking them if they don't know how to turn it off and if they need me to tell them.

Heck no. It's annoying enough when I get a new message or a missed call.

I turn mine off as well. The Pong game sound effect I get in my Bluetooth headset is sufficient notification that I am out of coverage.

I like having mine on too. of course I am also the guy in the office that refuses to silence his ringer just because I can annoy everyone else with it. ;)

HI guys new around here. I sort of like the green flashing light.
I work in a building where the service can be spotty. I like to know I have a connection.

Wirelessly posted (at&t BlackBerry 8310)

I switch back and forth between on/off. I love the color green so that's what make me want it to be on. But then it starts to get annoying so I turn it off. Then after a while I start to miss it and turn it back on until I start to get annoyed again by it. It's a vicious, never ending cycle.

It gets annoying when it's on your night table and your trying to get to sleep... I usually just throw something on top of it instead of shutting it off ahah
