Default Does RIM have any plans for new models of the Pearl?

I dont mean the Flip one, I mean a Blackberry with the same type of form factor as the Pearl 8100-8130. I love my 8130, it is just about the perfect size. However, I kinda wish there was a newer model with better hardware. I would really, really appreciate some more RAM, and a faster CPU. Just about all of my problems with my Pearl stem from how long it takes it to do EVERYTHING, especially dealing with media like music, camera, and pics. This thing is just way too slow.

I'm in the same boat, I LOVE my 8100, the sure type, size, everything is just what I'm looking for. I REALLY don't want to go back to a fully qwerty and I hated typing on the storm and I dislike flip phones. My contract is up and I'm hoping a new phone will come out that I can get a discount on a new phone w/ a new contract/renewal. I'm thinking about getting a newer pearl w/ gps, but I'd rather get a newer phone if the 8130 or whatever model isn't the "latest & greatest". Yes I too would love a better performing phone, or even a curve/bold w/ the sure type keyboard....is there any way to convert? I'm such a faster typer w/ the sure type.

I have been a dedicated Pearl user for just over 2 years. I currently have an 8110. I love the Pearl for the small form factor. Not sure if I could ever use a full QWERTY device, although I have been intrigued by the Curbe 8900. SureType kicks butt. I am keeping my fingers crossed for an updated candybar Pearl with more memory, faster processor, high res screen, etc. I am not at all sold on the Pearl Flip. Fa get about that one!

I also would like upgraded hardware for a phone the same size as a pearl. I love the pearl. I tried the curve and felt it was just too wide for my taste. I think that unless RIM released a newer pearl sized phone, i will be getting a curve 8900. its a bit wider than pearl but less so than the curve 8300 and has a full keyboard. i think its the best phone for me.
