Default Vodafone Theme for BlackBerry 8310 Curve (AT&T)

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I recently went out and upgraded from a BlackBerry 8800 to a BlackBerry 8310 Curve with AT&T. The standard Dimension themes that are preloaded on the device get old very fast, as I have been using them for many years now on almost every single BlackBerry I have owned: 8700c, 8703e, 8800, 8310). I was about to suck it up and use it again until I saw the following picture (attached). (And yes, I am aware that this is the default theme for Vodafone 8310s.) I have been reading a lot about unlocking themes and whatnot on various BlackBerry forums, and I am wondering where I can download or unlock the Vodafone (Today or Zen) White theme and download it onto my device even though I have AT&T.

Any assistance on this matter is greatly appreciated, whether it's a "no, this isn't possible," instructions on how to unlock it myself, or the download itself! Thank you very much in advance.

There are a lot of discussions on this board about unlocking themes for your new phone. I have found, personally, that using javaloader is the easiest method. I have a zip file with all themes and the executable. I can send it to you if you want to PM me your email address.

Good luck.

Javaloader isn't ideal because anything loaded will be removed the next time anything is loaded on in the Application Loader.

This guide should give you everything you need: How to Add Vendor Locked Themes - BlackBerryFAQ

That's interesting. I've loaded several apps from the desktop and my themes have always stayed.

Thank you!

So, forgive my ignorance here, but are you saying that all of the default BlackBerry themes (including Vodafone White Today) are currently stored on my BlackBerry but the "blackberry.alx" file is blocking them?

I'm just making sure that if I follow the instructions mentioned in this link:

How to Add Vendor Locked Themes - BlackBerryFAQ

...I will be able to use the Vodafone White Today theme. Is this true?? I feel like I should have to download the Vodafone White Today theme file(s) somewhere before I unlock it and load it onto my device. If I am wrong, though, just let me know.

Thanks again in advance!

No, the themes are in the software package but are not loaded on until you tell the Application Loader that they are not vendor locked.

Follow the guide step by step to download the appropriate files.

Okay,

That makes more sense. Thanks!

So now, one more question (sorry if I'm bothering anyone here). Do I download the BlackBerry 8310 AT&T Software Package or do I download the BlackBerry 8310 Vodafone Software Package (where I'm guessing the Vodafone White Today theme is)??

Sweet!

Thanks for all your help. I'll follow the Wikipedia instructions and see if it works. I have one last concern, though. On the Wikipedia instructions it lists all of the themes (including Vodafone Green Today) that are included with the 8300-series Software Packages but not Vodafone White Today. Is it possible that the Wikipedia site is incorrect or outdated?

Default OTA installation

It seems Enterpise does not like to accept software 2 b used to connect to the BB.
Is it possible to have the .jad file of the Vodafone white theme? I then can install it over the air using an url.

Thanks a lot.

If the issue is that your IT policy will not let you install, then there's no way to install it either way.

I am allowed to do whatever I want, but they (Administrators) say that when I use the desktop software then the connection will be lost and a new activation has to be done or another pb will occur.
So if I could use an over the air file I can install it from my website using the Blackberry.
