bridge is not connecting with Playbook
Please Login to Remove!
Hello all,
my blackbery 8520 is not connecting with playbook via bridge, until yesterday it was fine, i mean i had a problem yesterday as well but then i found out that on my BB bluetooth is not set to be discoverable, so i enable it and it worked straight away, but dont know whats going on now, am i missing something silly here is what the problem is.
when i try to pair them using barcode they detect each other start authentication but then i get the message that unable to pair them make sure the bluetooth is on and is discoverable bla bla...no joy with manual pairing either..
anyone knows how to fix it?
a quick answer is much appreciated.
thanks
Nabs

Re: bridge is not connecting with Playbook
check in the blackberry bluetooth options in the properties of the paired playbook:
the Trusted status should be set to "silent".
If everything is setup correct, it should not disconnect (for me it works perfect, but I have a 9700 with OS5 and no 8520), I also once had set a password on the PB for a few hours and the bridge worked reliable.
Maybe delete the pairing and try again ?

Re: bridge is not connecting with Playbook
hello nobody,
I've lost the connection again, it happened when for some reasons i had to switch off my mobile and after a while when i switched it back on i lost the bridge connection.
also device trust status is set to silent already, what silent means should i change it to "yes".
a quick reply is highly appreciated.
thanks

Re: bridge is not connecting with Playbook
i dont know what the difference between trusted=yes and trusted=silent really means, but, since it works with "silent" as the default I can only assume this is the correct way.
Check in the general Bluetooth options: if you Blackberry is not set to discoverable, maybe the PB has problems finding th handheld. Also there is an option which reads: "connect on power up" which is set to yes on my blackberry.

Re: bridge is not connecting with Playbook
Bluetooth options are set to "high+encrypted"
Otherwise, I Dont know, what you could do to fix this besides the usual load lastest operating system for blackberry + playbook, also check that the version of the bridge is current.
I had some problems connecting with a bb9000 (did take several tries), but, these have gone away currently.

Re: bridge is not connecting with Playbook
same here, there's really an issue if you turn off the bb. workaround is to do a hard reset on the bb then on the pb, switch the bluetooth off and on..
