When you encrypt the media card and mount it as a block device, you have to enter your key to mount, but the files are still encrypted when you read them from the host. Can we have an option to decrypt the data on the fly for the host? Another good option would be mounting read-only.
Ideal would be to mark partitions which are encrypted, read-only etc and which are mounted (perhaps as seperate devices) so you could safely use the blackberry to trade files in person without bringing out your laptop. A dos MBR could work, simply expose each partition as its own unpartitioned block device and your notebook would still be able to read the microsd card outside of the blackberry.
This is safer than using software on the host to decrypt the files as the key is never exposed. Id love to boot my netbook from an encrypted blackberry which can then dial out and leave guest use os on the netbook itself.
It would also be nice to have the option of a different key to unlock the screen. This way the user can have a convenient way to get to the phone for normal use and still use a longer key for encryption. Otherwise the user is likey to use a weak key.
