The other day, after 15 years of Windows Mobile, I purchased a BB 9700 Bold. A terrific devise. I have several resisdences and one in a bucolic setting does not have ATT 3 G service, only EDGE. I have a wireless network in the house via a cable modem so I set up WIFI on the BB for faster Internet connectivity and downloads.
The BB WIFI implementation seemed to work as the BB Status shows it active and the WIFI symbol appears along with the EDGE at the upper right corner of the BB Home Page. When I connect to my Google Internet hompage with the BB browswer there is only the WIFI symbol in the upper right corner, which I ssume is corrrect. But as soon as I move from the Google Internet home page to other site location only EDGE appears in the upper right and the downloads are slow.
Can someone advise me how to connect using the WIFI. I am told it is dynamic and will automatically default to WIFI before moving to EDGE or even 3G but this does'n seem to happen on my BB.
Sorry to be so thick. But I downloaded the link to the RIM PDF file but it consists of only 4 pages of simple setup details of the BB and nothing related to WIFI.
