Unhappy USA Phone Number and Philippine Not in GSM Format For SMS Texting!

Please Login to Remove!

They get my US phone number without the country code - they just get it in the usual 10 digit format 925 XXX-XXXX, not the +1925 or 011025 GSM format. When they reply to this, I don't get their text messages.

And then, I get their phone number in this format 0063917xxxxxxx instead of the +63917xxxxxxx GSM format and when I reply they don't get my text messages. Very frustrating and ATT and could not help me. HELP. Please help me locate the settings. Thanks.

If someone is texting from the Philippines to the US the format can either be: 001703XXXXXXX or +1703XXXXXXX. When you text from here in the US to the Philippines the format can either be: 01163919XXXXXXX or +63919XXXXXXX.

I would recommend setting the phone number correctly in your address book and the BlackBerry will figure out who the text is from. I would tell the person receiving the text in the Philippines do the same thing. Another thing I would recommend to help save money, create a Yahoo ID for the person in the Philippines add their mobile number to the account and IM them there and they will receive the SMS and when they reply it's only 2.5 PHP per text instead of 15 PHP per text. Then you can just send them a load occasionally to help them!

I've been finding many ways to lower costs to communicate with my fiancee in the Philippines.
