What form factor do we think this thing is going to take? Will it be 8800-size, or take on an entirely new size/shape? Judging from the screen resolution this thing could be as wide as the Nokia E61i. I just sold one of those, and personally I'm hoping for something a little sleeker. I don't think you can go any wider than the BB 8800 without taking a major risk.
The physical screen size hasent changed much so they've crammed more horizontal lines on?
I have seen the 9000 in action and it does look quite nice as far as resolution is concerned.
Currently the 9000's are having huge issues with battery life still... It literally lasts less than an hour.
The next one they're prototyping right now is going to be a full 640x480. They're planning on it being the next device after the 8800 for corporate people. And they're trying to make it so you could watch 8 hours of full screen video for people who go on trans-atlantic flights.
So is this thing going to be the overall size of an Apple Newton?! I've got one of those, and while it's interesting I'd hardly call it "pocketable". :D I really don't want a Blackberry much bigger than the current 8800. Add an inch to the overall length and it's going to feel very "un-blackberry-ish", IMHO.
Judging by the pics on this Engadget story, the 9000 is very near exactly the same length as the 8800. Good news for users like me worried about the overall dimensions. So I guess the screen will simply have massively increased resolution.
I will agree with the others and no matter what JSander's Imax screen demo shows, it will be roughly the same size as the 8820, both screen and device. Just look around for the images as there have been some with the 88xx and 9000 side by side. The screen will simply have higher resolution! The screen will really be a wow factor on the 9000 and not many if any phone sports such resolution.
