PI for the BB would be great. I had it on my XV6600 and I'm really missing that one app on the BB.

I was a user of PI on WM years ago. I'd LOVE to see the program available on the blackberry, but I'm worried that you won't be able to implement all the great features of the WM version on the blackberry.

As a newcomer to the BB format (moved from Palm), I miss the Agendus app. "depth" and would certainly welcome PI.

The new 5.0 of Pocket Day should bring some new stuff - we shall see soon.

PI and PocketDay are two entirely different things--in terms of quality of design, UI polish, everything a power user expects. If PI enters the BB arena, PocketDay goes out of business by the end of business that day. That's how vastly superior PI is than anything else out there.

I was a long time PI user before switching to a BB. Bring it on, Alex!

EDIT: Well, maybe that's a bit presumptuous to say PocketDay would be out of business. I'm sure it will have its loyal users stick around. But the difference between PI and anything else available for the BlackBerry can not be overstated.
Totally agree. I used PI for my PPC and now use PD and while PD is lacking I've learned to live with it. PD also seems to be a big memory hog on the BB. Alex, can't wait for the beta.

I have PD, which I disabled for now. Is there a need for PD and this program?

As a developer who's worked on both OS's, I would say that developing for Blackberry has been much more robust and easier than with Windows Mobile (C# and native Win32).

1. The APIs are simple and self-explanatory
2. The signing process is simple and doesn't require 3rd-party testing
3. Much less hacking required (especially with C# and getting certain things they left out to work).
4. Things generally work the first time

Whether or not you will get all the control over the PIM functionality that you need is another question, however.

But if anyone can pull it off it would be you . Happy coding!!

Yes. But we're talking about an basic alpha by the end of August. Meaning it won't be finished and will be very fluid. Think of a high rise tower with a frame and a the bottom half floors in an unfinished rough state. You'll see what it works and looks like and will be at a place where we can get specific critical feedback on what we're doing right and what we're doing wrong.

One thing I am considering is to only offer an early beta to current FlexWallet customers so we can also tie in feedback on that and try to get some synergy with our dev efforts there. Then later full betas to everyone.

This is why webis will fit in, in our world over here (BB). Thanks for the update

I think it was mentioned earlier, but PocketDay is more like Pocket Breeze, whereas this is more like, well, Pocket Informant. I was seriously considering converging on the WM6 phone side of the fence, but with this development my 8830 is now on the way. I'd gladly help in any beta efforts as needed! Go Alex, go!

It will be good to see what webis can come up with. Even though the JDE has some limitations, I think we can expect to see something better than PocketDay. Not knocking PocketDay in any way, but they have had that "niche" for the BB locked down for some time. Competition (friendly) is a good thing!

I would LOVE this program on a blackberry. I used blackberry for several months, one of the reasons I went back to windows mobile was PI and the multiple features/views to keep yourself organized.

Please, Please include a way to sync with Google Calendar. Many of us are not on BES, and would like to sync our calendar OTA. I currently use Goosync with windows mobile and it is perfect. If you guys could incorporate a syncML applet into your program, so it could work with a service like goosync, supporting multiple categories and category colors.

I hope you do go that route being that I already have FlexWallet (great app by the way).
