OK, looks like I did get a good dictionary. First impression is it works just like it should Basically you type and it underlines words that it thinks are wrong. Click anywhere on the word and you get a menu with possible correct spelling. There appears to be an option to add your own custom words (when you click on the underlined word "add word" is an option).

The only thing I can see missing on first (quick) glance is a bit more configuration options. I'd like to be able to tell it to skip all words in all caps (ala acronyms) etc.

Great job so far.

I don't remember seeing anywhere where he said to attempt a new download. Aren't you jumping the gun? I think we should wait until he gives us the go ahead.

I didn't jump the gun (honest). I'm "someone" who got the 55%. When I went back to check it later this afternoon, it actually (very slowly) downloaded the whole thing and I'm able to use it.

I got to the same percentage as well and had the same symptoms as you. Now when I try to access it, it says Connection error 404, download and installation failed. Press SPACE to exit.

My assumption is that the servers are still down and he is not ready for us to attempt a new download.

And I stand corrected on the options (just not where I expected them). Applications --> Options --> Spell Check gives you the various options that can be set.

I would like to know how big this is before downloading it again. It was going really slow, so either it is huge or the servers were just overloaded. I am hoping for the latter. Anyway this can be a desktop install (the dictionary) rather than ota?

Exactly. The first in-house cut we had was fast, but just before we sent it out for beta, we deliberately slowed it down to cater for users with low memory devices.. Looks like we overdid it! We are working out a better way to get the dictionary across. Hence the delay.

ani, when you get this all up and running again, do we have to re install the beta or just goto "download dictionary" ?

Cheers

It is just server side issues. I don't think there will be a need to reinstall, just click the download dictionary button.

Thanks.
