Default Microsoft Releases TellMe - Say what you want and see it

I recently came across the ultimate 411 tool, which in my opinion puts the Berry411 app to shame.

It only supports the Blackberry Pearl currently, but wow is it elegant. Voice recognition has been 100% spot on for me (I have no accent though), and you just need to roll up to select your previous entries. It also supports text entry, and works on most normal phones as well.

It has built in mapping, directions, and phone numbers (dials directly), a beautiful interface and its all through data... it records your voice then uploads it to their server to do the recognition then spits the answers back to you within seconds.

I have no idea how they intend to make money, but who knows these days =) Its a free beta for now... I'm definitely hooked. Only catch is that it only works with Sprint and Cingular... not sure of T-Mobile blocks it? Guess you can all try.

Bah, states on the website that it doesn't work with T-Mobile 8100. Lame.

NOTHING is going to put Berry411/Beyond411 to shame, unless it comes with WiFi delivery of a chocolate pie to my front door!

My brother works for the company that produced TellMe. He told me about the app about a month ago. However, right now TMo isn't supported so I've never been able to try it out.

Tellme
So only Pearl but most normal phones as well, lol
going to check it out, thanks. I love the phone service they have (on Cingular dial #121 only uses airtime - others dial 866-895-3124)

Lol. I meant to say the only blackberry supported is the Pearl.

It's a shame t-mobile isn't supported. What do you cingular users think of it so far? I continue to be impressed by it.

I know some of you swear by beyond411 but this is just so much slicker.

I got it to download -- I had to use the WAP browser -- wouldn't work with internet or blackberry browsers.

Default seems like a cool app

I just downloaded this and it's a damn cool app so far. It's worked great with the 10 or so locations I've asked for...and like the first post says, it's a beautiful interface.

It's a lot like beyond411 except you say the info rather than typing it. I haven't had one missed recognition yet and the return matches are extremely fast.

It returns the name of the business, the address and phone number with options underneath to call, get directions, get a map, and share the info with someone in your address book. Once you've searched a business with the voice command, it saves it for you so next time you just need to reference the info rather then doign the voice thing.

I can't comment enough on the interface. It's gorgeous!! One nice small touch is when you store a location that has a long name, when accessing it, it scrolls through the title....this just adds to the coolness of this apps' interface. A HIGH-END looking application, for sure(and I'm not joking here).

I'm not knocking beyond411 BTW, and will use both apps as I think they both have a place on my phone. In fact, I've got the 411 and tellme icons sitting right next to each other...a match made in heaven.

The coolness factor is thru the roof with TellMe though.

disclaimer: I have no affiliation with tellme and am just a regular BBF user who downloaded this.

yeah I got the text message and followed the link - it said my Cingular Pearl is not supported yet.

nevermind: it worked from the MediaNet browser - had to copy/paste the link from the text msg
