Pretty snazzy, if I do say so myself.

Can't wait to get my 8820 one o' these days, so I can actually test the Wi-Fi. As soon as I do, I'll let'cha all know.

Has anyone received a response back from beejive support about not being able to connect via Wifi if the cellular radio is not turned on or does not have service? I was able to lose my signal in my basement, but have a wifi AP down there, and could not log on to Yahoo/AIM via jive talk over the wifi. At first I thought it might be it would not connect if you shut the mobile radio off, but it appears to not connect if the mobile radio is on, and there is no signal.

This totally defeats the purpose of using wifi.

Found a bug. I reported it to BeeJive, but wanted to post it here as well.

If you have the "Enable Buddy Icons" option checked, and you sign into MSN as "invisible", your status will change to "available" every few seconds while the application is getting buddy icons. If you disable the "Enable Buddy Icons" option, this behavior is not present.

nice beta... I like the new version a lot. I just got my 8820 and was trialing 1.03 for 2 days. The auto config worked better with this beta version. Also, it's set to BIS and never on wifi... I'm on a BES server, but it works so I'm not touching the settings...

Too bad it's only a 30 day trial even for the beta...

Then why don't you just buy it? You can even register the beta. I tested the WiFi beta for almost a month and I finally bought the user license for JiveTalk. I just love it.

No kidding, support the programs that deserve it.

Installing now, I just really hope they added a small icon that will appear at the top like facebook/gmail/email does

a notification icon on the homescreen? Nope... not yet. But I can see the JT icon which gets a star if there is new message.

Damn :( That's about my only gripe thus far.

Though I am not able to log into any of my clients right now after installing the new one, let me try a battery pull. The auto network test passed with no issues.

Isn't the notification icon something RIM still limits to their own apps? I don't believe there is a public API for it. So the best apps like JiveTalk can do is change their home screen icon.
