I am still interested if you are going to have a fully functional "link" between the activity and contact whereas it can then be synched and recorded with the PC based CRM/PIM.

Will this allow us to schedule from the contact view and have that event show up on the calendar?

I know I can wait for it to come out to answer these ?s but you have me really excited that someone has finally developed a true CRM/PIM for the BB.

Yes, you will be able to schedule from the contact view and attach a contact from the calendar. We are using the note field to store the link info, so no PC app or anything like that will know about the links.

Have you been able to fix the issue on the Pearl where if you try to reply to an email directly from PD, the cursor starts below the quoted original email instead of above it?

Will we be able to link contacts to tasks also? That would be awesome!

Looking forward to PocketDay taking me much closer to what Palm Users have with Agendus and Datebook5.

Willing to help work out beta bugs if needed.

I have PocketDay Pro, and I've been eagerly awaiting the release of 5.0. Please include me in your list of Beta testers!

Default Better Week View

The one and best program I miss most from my Treo is Pimlico Software's WeekView (http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/weekview.htm). Anything somewhat resembling this and many of us would be happy. It would give us the ability to see a week at a time with actual appointments. Great for the road warrior trying to make appointments based on multiple travel days.

Screen shots look awesome. Some initial comments on the feature list.

> View Switcher within PD is a great addition. I currently have the convienence button on the left side of my BB8800 assigned to PocketDay. If I was in PD could a second press be used to bring up the PD view switching?
> Ability to create a Task from within an email would be great too. Many times you have to gather info to reply and having it added to my task list would be great.
> Ditto to adding contacts to Tasks. You may need to call, email, sms someone as part of a task. If the same structure could be used in tasks it would be great.

When will this Beta? It is a huge step towards brininging this closer to what is available for PIM enhancement on other platforms and will make give the blackberry a much more user friendly enviornment for managing meetings and tasks.

We'll look into that view switcher idea, good suggestion.

Tasks wil have the same functionality as calendar items (ie. created from email and contact links)...

Beta by the end of June...a few more items to add/tweak.

How about giving the user the ability to sort tasks using multiple criteria and select the order based on:

> Due Date
> Priority
> Subject (I put tags at the start of my subject to help me sort that look like A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3)
> Category

Another Question on the screen shots. When you attach a contact to a Task or Meeting does the attached contact show somewhere in the display with Pocket Day?

Default Email to Empower/BB Smart

Is there any way that Pocketday can have an option to launch the new Empower or BB Smart email viewer, instead of its own. No offense, but the only issue I have with PD is the email viewer, particularly because when you hit 'reply,' it inserts the reply at the very end of the message, rather than the top.

I have to agree with Knocka on this one. It would be great to launch the native/BBSmart/Empower and when the message is closed go back to the PD screen.

I never like the PD viewer due to the reply issue above.

Here's the issue with email. Due to limitations on the BB, there's no way to launch the native email app properly. Empower and BBSMart tap into the "open" action on an existing email item from the native BB screen. This is not something that PD can do as only the native email app does this.

2 different options:

-1- Reply currently launches the native email app where PD fills in the body of the email itself. The issue is that the cursor is at the bottom of the message.

-2- PD uses it's own reply screen. Problem here is that the nice spelling checker won't work.

We're trying to come up with a solution.

I am an avid fan of the pocketday (i use pocketday pro) !!!!! is there any way to get in on the beta?

also, would it be possible to add color title bars to each section rather than set it as the whole background?

how will upgrades work? will it be automatic?

Thanks. Keep up the great work!

Folks,

It will be worth the wait. We don't want to release a Beta without the complete feature set. Not too much longer...

a few comments -

1. we need better month view - hard to navigate and see scheduled items
2. we need better task management - i.e. more sort and view options
3. we need better integration with email, contacts - i.e. injection, rescheduling of items, etc.

thanks, looks good so far

We are just anxious to take advantage of the new features. I don't think any of us want to have an extremely buggy beta or a piecemeal approach.

I'll wait impatiently for the new beta release.
