Please Login to Remove!

I've done a bunch of searchs (Google, on the forums and Nextel.com), but could not find out the actual dimensions of the screen ie pictue size...I want to put a pic i have as my backgound, but it has to be resized, but I don't know what size to make it. Any help would be awesome...

Question How do you resize in Photoshop?

Stupid question, I know... I'm using photoshop elements 3.0 and I can't figure out the best way to resize/crop my images to the right 240x260 pixels for my 7100t...

I'm starting with 5 megapixel images of the kids and would like to be able to either "resize" the entire thing to work as background... or "crop" to just use part of it...

Can someone please state the obvious here and tell me what I should be doing?

thanks!!!!

Don't remember 3.0 but with 4.0, use either the Crop tool on the toolbar to crop and for resize, I right click on the frame and select resize image. I don't remember which Menu functions these are at the moment

Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply, but I'm still struggling....

If you crop, you only have the option to do it in inches.... not pixels

if you resize image, you have to de-select "contrain proportions" to select 240 x 260 pixels (to fit the 7100t).... and the picture ends up looking stretched....

Thanks for the continued assistance...

Sorry then mine shows in pixels and not in inches. I looked in the edit preferences but couldn't change anything that affected the crop tool. Sorry

Not sure about the photoshop stuff but...

I've had luck cropping my larger images to 960x1040 first, then resize the image to 240x260, should keep things from getting stretched out. I'm just using microsoft office picture manager.

mchambers, if you need help with photoshop then there's a lot of great sites out there that have good tutorials for what you're trying to do. Do a Google search and you'll find some. You'll get a lot more mileage that way, because they'll have screenshots and better explanations, than trying to have people explain it here.
