It is rather distressing. One of the great things about Ramble is that I can have mobile IM without people knowing I'm mobile. Now Ramble is no longer working. I suspect that this is strictly AOL's cause and if they don't fix it soon, I'm going to go to their worldwide headquarters in Ashburn VA (just up the street from MCI) and get answers!
(i doubt I would get very far though)

In order for ramble to work, you'll need a data plan... But there may be some other ways you can use aim via sms, but i'm not aware..

Check out

you have to send an sms to a special number. then sms one specific number per aim screen name. remember you will be billed per sms message and every line will come in as a separate message.

Just curious how your BlackBerry works without a data plan? Is it just a phone at this point?

So happy the ramble is working again. It is clearly, in my opinion, the best IMing program available for the blackberry.

Well, then you'll probably need to stick to an SMS-based IM service for now. Check with your carrier.
