I'm going to Hawaii this week and I'm a little concerned about putting my BlackBerry through the X-ray machine at the Airport.

I read in a couple of threads (forgot which threads, back in Feb) about some people getting their BB's data erased and their BB totally getting screwed up after going through the machine.

Any suggestions???

Never had any problems with my units, and they have been through a lot of scanners.

Never even heard that one before. Mine goes through airport scanners at least 4 times per month.

Ixxx8217;m in and out of Superior Court, metal detectors, at least twice a day. Not once have I had any problems. While on a call, Ixxx8217;ve even told my caller to hold on while I put my BB through the detector and then continued the call after it has come through.

My 7250 has been in use for over a year now, and its been through an airport scanner hundreds of times. And its still working great!

I too have had a caller wait while i put my 8700 through an xray scanner at the airport.
It's not a problem. it's not the type of emf that can hard the type of electronics in the blackberry.

Another vote for the x-ray machines don't hurt BBs (or cell phones).
Mine goes through x-ray machines probably three or four times a month since I've had it... a year plus now and still works fine.

Although my ear that I hold my BB up to is starting to glow.

Blackberrys are x-rayed millions of times a day. Our nice goverment workers use the airlines like you use your car and their phone work fine.

I once, on my way to hawaii, set off the detector at the airport, because although I put my BB in the tray, I forgot the holster in my pocket.

Stupid sleeper magnets.

My BB has gone through Honolulu International's X-ray machines literally dozens of times with no ill effects.

It's been through Lihue, Kona, Hilo, and Kahului airports as well, and more airports on the mainland than I care to think about.

I'm a frequent flier who was based out of HNL until last month.
