ive been stuck at this process for too long and decided to post here for help.

Have you wiped it completely clean first with jl_cmder and then tried this reload of the OS method above?

Do not connect your bold yet, and let it sit at the 507 error screen, now when you get to the COM selection screen, plug in your bold, it will say your PIN after once second or 2, immediatly click Next and it will load the OS of your choice after selecting options you want.
I think this is because when 507 no OS error is there, bold is stuck in continous reboot and doesn't connect to desktop manager correctly. Let us know if it worked. You can also wipe your bold for completely and get 507 error with JL_cmder and load new OS from scratch.

On a 8310 O2 UK (I don't know if unlocked) I try to update everything and always received the message on desktop manager or through app loader " unable to reconnect the device during a multi-stage load operation ".
I have now and everytime I connect a battery a battery logo in the middle of the screen with a red bar over, that hide itself during the first stage of updating the software.
Do you founded something similar?
Other than your solution that doesn't work for me, I founded people who suggest to drop the phone until it show the clessidra and some of them are happy and wrote it works?!
Some other suggest to connect the phone without battery and reinsert later shortly before it start the reconnection to service process.
nothing work for me.
I only have a very good specialised repair centre that may help (not for free) and someone else suggest me straight away to flash it, but what does it mean?
Thanks at all.

I forgot to mention that all option for back up are unavailable, that looks as the device has nothing inside.

SO computer challenged!
I have read loads on using JL_Cmder to wipe, so I have no more 3rd party apps. on my 8330 Curve.
Last evening, I followed the instructions and successfully got to the Error 507, but it just managed to lock there. I gave up and retired!
So, now I am trying to find this apploader, which I did in my program files, but it's a dll file (?) and I don't know how to open it on this Dinosaur Windows 2000. It wants me to choose "how to open in with another menu (Zip, Acrobat, Explorer, etc.)...I'm really stuck, as I tried to open in a few times.
This morning (duh on my part, I did download the proper OS onto my desktop, so that's ready to go.
I so hope someone can guide me, so I can get the apploader open and try and go from there. I speak NO geekspeak unfortunately!

Thanks Midnight!
I had some other computer issues, but problems solved.
And I was remiss in not getting back here to say that the OSCAR goes to
JSCONYERS for taking a good amount of time to help me out today. There are some great people that hang out here...

I would recommend using a PC if you're having issues with the beta Mac DM.
Your profile indicates you have a Bold, if that's correct, you can get the OS here:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...eastasian.html
Reloading the OS will not lock your device. Once a device is unlocked, it's ALWAYS unlocked.

Good to know! You're welcome. Apps will need to be reinstalled as they were lost when the device was wiped.

I wish I'd found this thread before spending almost two hours in tech support hell last night. It's a mystery why the first and second level support techs at ATT had no idea how to solve this. Thanks for sharing
