Default Awkward placement of numbers and ALT key on 8900

Please Login to Remove!

I haven't seen anyone complain about this yet in these threads, but I find the placement of the ALT key right next to the number keys quite cumbersome. If you use your left thumb to keep pressing the ALT key the numbers 4 and 7 are hard to get to with your right thumb, the spacing between the alt key and the numbers should be bigger. Or maybe they should have added another ALT key on the right side of the keyboard?

Been using an 8300 for the last couple of years, so this is natural for me. Also not a problem, even though I big hands. Probably just a matter of getting used to the layout - second nature after a while.

You can switch to number mode by pressing Alt and left Shift... and then press either of the shift keys to go back to normal mode.

The layout of the keys is the very nature of Blackberries. It is how it has been designed.

Well, it's quite different coming from a Pearl, where the keys are much larger. However, your tip to press ALT + SHIFT at the same time solves my problem. I was pressing the left ALT key and kept pressing it while entering the numbers. I'm sure you can see how that felt awkward. User error...

Thanks for the help!
