Unhappy 147minutes for 275MB???

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my media card to class 4 8gig MicroSDHC.
however, when i tired to put the back up files from my old 518mb MicroSD, it says it will take 147minutes to transfer...

this certainly is not right..

I tired to format the media card on the device and it took me few minutes, which took me few seconds for old card.

would it be card problem? or bb setting problem??
any guide to solve ??

should I return the card??

the card doesn't work with using micro->mini sd adapter. probably because my computer only reads SD cards..

I waited to get huge upgrade on media card and this fact just depresses me..

oh.. and my phone is 8310 curve, running on OS 4.5.81 east asian ( the lastest one)

I used it as mass storage. using window explorer

That is a long time, I don't recall how long it took to transfer mine but not that long. Do you have an anti-virus running in real time? That can slow down data transfer because it's scanning every file. Are you running a lot of programs in the background?

I would close all unnecessary programs in the background and transfer the files in groups, not all at once. If it's going to take a long time, get up and do something to pass the time -- have a snack or do the dishes.

Also it may not take as long as it says initially. Once it gets started, the time often decreases.

Yea the time windows gives you is never right, how many times does it sit on 1 minutes/second?

I would let it run for a little while and see what happens.

Also what class is your 512 MB? (Do you what version of USB you are running? (1.1 older machine, 2.0 the standard for a few years now)

Unless you bought a shitty/cheap memory card. If it's a cheap-p bargain basement card it could take a looooooong time to transfer stuff.

thanks for replys!
I kinda solve the problem by transfering files in group.
one folder by one folder.
it took about 3 min per folder.
its still not quick but faster than 147 min for whole thing
I think its because I bought the cheap card from amazon for 25 bucks.
bytheway computer might have usb 2.0 since it takes few hundred times faster when I am using SDcard reader on old one, which doesn't say what class it is.
