I have had only one problem so far and I am on Sprint. I love some of the new updates it has done. The only problem I have is that my BB Messenger freezes up every now and then. A message will just sit with the clock icon on. This morning I did a battery pull and after it reset, I got 7 BB Messenger messages from last night. I haven't figured it out just yet and waiting to see if anyone is having this problem.

Main difference is HTML email (if your BES/BIS server supports it). Also includes "DocsToGo" and a video camera.

Not clear. Some say it has gotten less loud, but I did not notice a difference. I don't know if anyone has reported that it is louder.

My bb came with v4.3.0.127. Decided I wanted to start off as current as possible as I want the html emails and the docs to go as well. So here's what I did...

Downloaded and installed dm 4.7
Downloaded and installed os 4.5.0.122
Removed vendor.xml file
Ran dm- device up to date
Read FAQ's here- did a modify on the dm install to not look for updates, reinstalled os, removed vendor file, rebooted pc
DM found the os but eventually came back to device up to date.
Searched pc for any vendor.xml file, none found (even in hidden and sys folders)
Uninstalled dm and os and reinstalled, unchecking updates from the start and still nothing.

So...what did I miss?
Step 3 !.!.!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe.
It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Default Picturemail not working since upgrade to 4.5

Ever since I upgraded, I have gotten a "red x" if I try to send a picture. Anyone else having this issue?
Also, I have been having a hard time getting reconnected to the BES. I suspect old/restored service books from the older OS 4.3.

Anyone have any insight?

Ok, I have read people going right to the Loader executable when doing an upgrade. I would have to assume that is what DM invokes normally but if you run it in this fashion it removes DM somehow still looking for vendor/upgrade correct?

Now I have to decide if I want to again try this or just wait till Sprint releases their ver of 4.5.

Thanks for the reply

I never did the upgrade but was having the same problem yesterday. I did a battery pull and then everything was fine.

Is there any way to get rid of the annoying little black squares that precede the date when viewing SMS Texts? It's like a little black bullet and it's annoying.

Smile RIM BB OS Versioning System

OK, if you look at this set of numbers "4.5.0.122/4.5.0.89", I think that the first set of numbers "4.5.0.122" refers to the core OS version, and the second set (in this case "4.5.0.89") refers to the Applications revision number.

Because the core OS, and the Apps arent 100% tied together (and are developed seperately also AFAIK), they are versioned separately.

Don't quote me on this though, This is just my impression from reading through craploads of ARM embedded OS stuff, and JDK stuff on the blackberry dev website.

I may bee absolutely wrong, but that's how i understand it, until I learn otherwise

ok.. so i downloaded and installed the os on my computer... deleted the vendor.xml... connected the curve to my computer and clicked loader...

everything is going fine but now it looks like its stuck on the 4th item on the "list" of updating.. "connect to the device ROM" and at the bottom it says "uploading RAM image" with the status bar full.. its been like that for like 20 mins.. sooo is something wrong? or is that normal...

Completely normal. Just wait. Whatever you do, DO NOT disconnect the cable before it's done.

I wish, I have a pearl and they decided to do that with 4.5 on the Pearl too. It just thickens all the messages so you can't see as many on the same page, it's so lame.
