Default Curve 8900 Start Up Time

Please Login to Remove!

I have upgraded my software a few times on this device and I assumed it would take a bit longer to start up than the 8300 seeing as it has alot more packed into it, but mine is taking a good 12 mins to restart everytime. I've even timed this to be sure. is 12 mins really what it takes to restart this phone or does mine have a problem with it? I need to call blackberry support with Tmo but of course....I don't have another line to talk to them on besides the 8900 so that wont help... any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

[QUOTE=jakeisgreat;1437108]I have upgraded my software a few times on this device and I assumed it would take a bit longer to start up than the 8300 seeing as it has alot more packed into it, but mine is taking a good 12 mins to restart everytime. I've had several BB's and did upgrades on all of them....The 8900 takes a *long* time to boot up and takes much longer than any of the others. The 8310 that it replaced took a minute or so and that was long enough for me.

One thing I found is that my 8900 often fails to boot up at all if the SD card is in it. I've tried reformatting the card and using other cards. All have the same problem - the device will not boot up with the card. After the reboot I can put the card in the phone and everything works fine...

Mine takes around 6 to 8 mins. Everytime. I one time went to the corner store and came back and the phone still loading. I have eaten entire meals before the phone actually powers up.
