I would say a silver or "chrome" color to mimic the color other than black on the unit itself.

It is a true silicone skin that does not pick up as much excessive dust and lint as some of the others

Protection. We've done the same thing with the Treo series and that has been enormously popular. The cut-outs make it very easy to press these buttons while providing an extra layer of cosmetic protection.

The track ball is completely unfettered.

I don't understand what you mean by a "worse fit." What differences between ours and the RIM one make it inferiior to theirs?

If you're unhappy with any of our products, we have a 14 refund policy in effect. So far, from folks that we sent pre-release models to, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

David,

I pull my memory card out everyday! How well will this skin hold up against removing and replacing each day?

I ordered mine today (10/18/06) and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I have the T-Mobile leather pouch (which I spent $20 on) and I hate it. If anyone wants to purchse it from me 50% off let me know.

I will post my review once I get the skin!

Hi mckinney,

The skin is VERY resilient. I've been using one made of the same material on my Treo 650 (boo! hiss!) for close to a year and it has still retained its shape without any stretching out at all.

No, and I don't know of any other silicone skin that provides a screen protector. This product, used in conjunction with our Ultimate screen guard will provide complete cosmetic protection for your device.

I have a very similar-looking skin on my SLVR (NOT a Seidio product).

It is literally "paper thin" and adds nearly no weight or size to the phone, yet protects it from bumps and scrapes and gives it some grip. I'm hoping the Seidio Jet Black Skin (ordered and, apparently, shipped) is the same type.

After about a year of daily use, the skin has not stretched out in any way and still attracts very little dust... a quick blow (like blowing out Birthday candles) and any dust/lint is history. I take it off once in a great while and wash it with tap water, which seems to re-vitalize it.

The only issue I see is that the corners of the skin surface are slightly "rubbed" or "buffed" looking from normal wear.

Can't wait for the Seidio skin! (Though I do love the feel of my "naked" Pearl...)

There is a brief review on Seidio black skin and holster posted on pinstack.com

Just received the black skin and holster today (ordered it two days ago). The skin is great. Unlike the one sold on the BB site, there is an extra skin that covers the 4 top buttons (green, menu, back and red). I like the feel and it is not too sticky (I was worried about this). The holster too, works just as described and the workmanship on both items is very good. I like that the black skin covers most of the silver sides...it was too flashy for me. I like the subtleness of my now skinned Pearl and I would suggest anyone still interested one, should really consider the one offered by Seidio.
