My little T-Mobile store in the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, NJ had cases, picked one up today. I think I would prefer a horizontal case, but I'll see how I like this one first.

Thanks!

Blackberry.com. They have a leather slip case for the 8100 that will be available in about a week.

After calling the T-mobile store phone number supplied in Oregon. That case that is pictured is specifically made for the BB 8100. Apparently, the Oregon market is the only one that has them. Hopefully CA & the rest will join in soon.

They've got a nice looking case on www*blackberrypearl*com ... this is the silverish looking one I guess a few people have mentioned. I think it's pretty slick looking myself.

I just bought the exact same case in NJ today at lunch. The box says 'Designed for RIM 8100'.

I've looked on that website but found nothing. Can you tell me where in the site it is?

Thanks

I bought the t-mo 8100 case at launch and returned it today. As brewrat mentioned, the magnet only works if you insert the phone upside down - this is because the only magnet in the case is the one that keeps the flap closed. I picked up the SDA case and as stated, it works flawlessly. BTW, they are in short supply in my local stores (mid-town NYC).

Is the SDA case the vertical one?

No. The SDA case is horizontal - which I prefer anyway.

They are mos def in short supply here in NYC. The store on the UWS 77th and broadway was sold out when I walked in. I thought I got the last SDA case at the mid-town west store yesterday. Make sure you get the SDA case and not the larger MDA case.

Both cases are very similar and are horizontally oriented.

One of the local TMo stores I called said they have the case for the 8100. Its a leather vertical case. I confirmed with the rep that its the exact fit case & she said the packaging says "made for the blackberry 8100" or something to the effect

I bought the SDA case today and it's perfect. I prefer the horizontal carry position to the vertical, and the sleeper function works perfectly too. I did take a gander at the official 8100 case. Nice, but vertical position, and to get the sleeper function you have to put your Blackberry in upside down to take advantage of the flap magnet.

Yup.

On another note, I plan to exchange it for the SDA version. I much prefer that version's horizontal positioning.
