Will Nextel/Sprint still carry the Blackberry's or will the exclusively use the Treo's?

Just a rumor that I had heard...

Thumbs up

From Nextel Corporate Division, they claim that they will carry the BB's. It would be in a sense suicide for them to get rid of them. They have many corporate clients investing in BB's and BES right now. My father asked when he purchased BB's for his company.

In fact they are supposed to be coming out with a new BB modem (Nextel/iDen) in the Fall. That was the word at the RIM Wireless Symposium in April.

Sprint is buying Nextel to get into the business world. It would be suicidal to drop the BB and go to the Treo...

As far as the service i am sure it will get better for both sides Sprint/nextel customers sprint customers being able to get DC and the nextel folks getting better coverage. As far as the loosing the BB I dont see it going anywhere. I am not sure where you heard that rumor but i would go back and laugh atthem.

well, i agree .. im use to the qwerty myself.. its not the size actually that bothers me, just i left the standard keypad due to need to push a single key more then once to get the letter/number i needed; not going back .. but it would be nice for nextel to have this in their line up..

Nextel's web site claims in the merger FAQ to support all current technologies through 2010. http://www.nextelenterprise.com/merger/

One specific question in the FAQ asks about current handsets (though not specifically BB) and they say they'll continue to support all current handsets.

Looks like a cheaper alternative to a BB. It may do for those who want something smaller and cheaper maybe. I think I'll stick to my 7520 though.
