Default Found a blackberry - but it won't charge, any ideas?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Recently I had the fortune of finding a blackberry storm 9500 while on a night out. I thought it would be a shame to see it go to waste.

Here is the problem...I bought a charger from ebay (admitedly it did only cost £3) but it will not charge the phone properly and the handset will only switch on for less than a minute at a time.

Is the problem due to the fact I have bought a poor quality charger? Or can the network or phone company block the entire phone and prevent it from charging?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah I have an idea...

RETURN IT TO ITS RIGHTFUL OWNER.

No, the problem is Karma.

If you insist on continuing down this path, at least go online and do your own research. You might start by checking the voltage requirements for the device, and compare them to the bargain basement adapter you purchased.

Unfortunatly, you're not going to get much help here. We all are BlackBerry addicts and keep them close to our heart. Someone is missing their BlackBerry and you should do EVERYTHING you can to return it to it's rightful owner. Return to where you found it. Do the right thing. I'm sure it has a sim card in it...call the carrier that's branded on the sim card and give them the IMEI number (usually underneath the battery) and hopefully you can return it to a store where they can return it to its rightful owner. There's much you can do as far as doing the right thing here.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Make an honest effort to return to rightful owner! Wouldn't you want the same to happen if you lost yours?

I'm guessing not, otherwise I doubt this would have been posted, just like the other posts made of the same nature.

The real shame isn't the phone going to "waste" but that the owner has to go without it and the person who found it isn't even going to make an honest attempt to give it back.

I know how it feels. I've had my house broken into. It definately sucks to lose something you paid for with your hard earned money.

Maybe the device has RobLock on it and the device is sending text messages to it's owner!

Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)

At least disguise the question a little, don't tell the people on THIS forum that you 'found' it on a night out...I would hate to lose my BB.

Why disguise it? The premise is still the same either way - it's not the OP's device, and he/she is obviously not going to return it since the post is about finding a way to charge it.

It's a shame that people are so dishonest and selfish. Why not think about what the person that lost their BB is feeling, instead of thinking you hit the lotto?

I agree, the initial question should have been " How do I go about returning a Blackberry I found, to it's owner?"

Morals are defined by what we do when no one is watching.

I lost my virginity. I think the reason I haven't been able to find it, is because td11 found it first.
