Even when I'm in a good signal area, my phone doesn't ring when people try to call. I just get voicemails.

As a test yesterday - I sat in a 3G signal with a full 5 bars and called my Blackberry three times. Each time it went straight to voicemail. I then put the SIM into a very old Nokia I have lying around. It rang fine each time!

I'm on .442 - could this be an OS issue? Or that the Blackberry or network isn't working well on 3G? Should I try limiting the phone to 2G only?

Its configured to vibrate, then ring and vibrate.

I've switched it to 2G only earlier today - and have tested it several times and its ringing fine each time. So - that would suggest its an issue with 3G either on the phone or the network (it also worked fine on my old Nokia)?

Have had over 24 hours with it restricted to 2G only - haven't missed a single call. Looks like I won't be using 3G for a while - which is very disappointing - I upgraded to the 9700 to get 3G.
