Exclamation Eternal Reboot-Tried it all still stuck

Please Login to Remove!

Ok
BB 8110 AT&T Unlocked was running 4.2
was updating last night to 4.5
Came back to find it in the eternal loop

I have tried

Remove SDcard
uninstalling DM + All Device software on PC
reinstalled
Ran apploader battery out then in method
ran apploader from exe battery out then in method
(both multiple times)
JLCmdr
and just about anything else i can find.

Still at the end of the apploader erasing it then installing the new software when the device goes to intialize it goes straight back to the loop so the install can't be finished.

When you run the apploader it shows that everything is unchecked except of the core stuff.

PLEASE Help this isn't my phone i was doing it for a friend.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Ok just tried it at the work comp here and i understand now..... i htink i was infront of the comp to long earlier.
K i will try that when i get home.
If that fails then what?
From what i see that is about it for options. Is the berry a brick then?

From what I have read most people that ahve gotten to this stage at least get to the hour glass.

Side note > does phonebook not work to restore a 4.2 OS unit with a 4.5 backup file?

If you can't get Jl_cmder to work (and rarely it does not) see post #3 above for another link.

Most likely it will work.

Well I tried it using cmd dos window and still the same result.
When it shuts off and then on to intialize it stays in its cycle of rebooting.
JL isn't working cuz the phone won't stay connected long enough.

maybe a lose connection inside the phone that supplies the power.

that would explain the power cycling

I'm having this same issue. Upgrading from 4.3 to 4.5 on an 8110. Almost finishes the install then the red light comes on for a few seconds and shuts off for a few. Unit won't start up, no error messages. Can't get JL_Cmdr to wipe it.

The berry seems bricked. Anyone else have any ideas?

Have you tried getting JL_Cmder to connect with the battery out?

Yes and it seems like it will connect but only for the few seconds when the phone is in the "on" cycle. Then the phone cycles off and the connection is lost.

Both myself and the OP were upgrading an 8110 from at&t. Is that just coincidence or is the upgrade file corrupt somehow?

Any 3rd party apps or themes? Some themes don't play well with OS 4.5.

I wasn't even getting an hourglass, just a black screen with the red led turning on and off.

OK, I was finally able to break the cycle. This is what I did.

1) Deleted version 4.5 from the computer
2) Reloaded 4.3 to the computer
3) Started Desktop Manager
4) Took out the battery
5) Selected Options>Connection Settings
6) Plugged USB into BB
7) Hit detect. As soon as it found the USB, I immediately hit OK
8) Went to App Loader, selected OS applications and started the process
9) When it got to load JVM and system software, the BB turned on with a 507 error
10) Put battery back in, pulled the USB cord and exited Desktop Manager
11) Restarted DM, plugged BB in and it reloaded 4.3

That was a close one. I'm wondering if it was a freak or if my 4.5 software was somehow corrupt sending the phone into the endless power-cycling.

Also, no themes. Prior to the upgrade I did have Viigo and Where. But they seem to work fine on my 8310 running 4.5 (52) I was going to upgrade the curve to (55) but now I'm too chicken.

Ok confirmed did exactly the same thing.
Funny when i went to sleep last night I downloaded all the old 4.3 DM and OS.
Did what you suggested and it worked!!
So i guess there are some issues with the 4.5 and 8110.

I did load .55 onto my att 8310 with no issues and its working great.
