Flash 10.3 update and Adobe Air support for devs....

EDIT:: System seems to run well.
-Noticed a smoother browsing experience. Testing a few apps, and I do not notice a difference in performance.

Will test App World next - Yeah, like most updates, app world's notification has come up asking me to update 6 apps. Phantom notifications though, still a bit of a hang/hiccup when you open App World.

EDIT 2:: A few of the flash games I saved on PB seem to play a little bit better, not as much chop or freeze.

EDIT 3::Can someone confirm if their PB is a tad...idk quicker? Like a 'hot knife through butter' quick. It's the responsive feel throughout, scrolling through apps, putting it through it's paces, etc. It's not something I can really explain as it's not just seeming to happen to random apps/browsing/etc..

EDIT 4:: So I tested it out on a few web based IM portals like AIM(Works)/Trillium(Works)/GTalk(Sort of works)/IM+(So works(nice interface ( http://plus.im/ ))) I guess it has to do with the 10.3 flash update. With Flash 10.3.212.18 you can now use AIM Video chat from your browser (as it requires 10.3) AV by AIM - Let's video chat!

Final Verdict, so far... Playbook Browser FTW!!!!

Downloaded last night via OTA. Odd as the last 9% took forever. Had a strong WiFi signal, but it just seemed to hit 91% and hang. Didn't disconnect or anything, it was just like watching grass grow to get to 92%, then 93%, etc.

Finally finished the download and it took so long I had to go to bed. After the download and installation it rebooted fine.

I will look at it tonight.

I don't have a browser crash when playing Empires&Allies on facebook anymore!

It's slow as anything, but they've actually improved the flash performance.

... games like CityVille and stuff use massive amounts of CPU power on desktops, so to see the playbook browser not crash with these games loaded is impressive.

Now all we need is native e-mail.... sooooon?!

For me browsing appears to be much more stable than before. So far it hasn't quit once.
I have a question regarding the AV for AIM application. I cannot get pass the flash "allow" question. Where do I set the flash permissions, so the application will have access to the camera and microphone?. I have checked Security > Application Permissions, but flash is not listed.

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Ahh, the power of suggestion......but maybe things are somewhat more snappy.

I think the bridge email is quicker and images load faster. But then the bridge has had its moments of brilliance before only to drag later. We'll see. Hopefully no more drag in the future.

Hi Richard.

Open your browser, and swipe down from the top and choose the small gear icon (Options, far right), in the Options window select 'Content' and there you can toggle 'Load Images/Enable Flash/Enable Javascript'

Thanks so much for responding and your suggestion, however all three options are turned ON, and still the same result.

On the first page, you check that you are over 13 years old, and click Start a Video Chat.

Next window will show a Blank 'video preview' and a small window to the immediate left of that blank preview window.

It should say "Adobe Flash Player Settings"
Directly underneath that you have the choice of Allow and Deny(default selection when you first load the page) Once Allow is selected you can also click "Remember" or not then click on the close button. Kind of hard to select with the touchscreen, but you will eventually get it. If you cannot see the Allow with the green checkmark next to it, means you have private browsing off.

Thanks again ZombieBerry. You we correct all the way, and demonstrated to be patient. My mistake was to see that flash menu as an example of what I would see, instead of being the menu itself. Nonetheless it works well.

Is anyone having problems with using the zoom feature while using the picture viewer. Scrolling through pictures is fine and very smooth, and these are high def. pictures, however with the latest firmware I noticed today that every time I zoom into a picture, the screen goes blank. I double tap and scroll to the next picture and it looks normal, but if I go back to the picture I was viewing it still shows blank, even though it is showing un-zoomed.

Restarting the unit fixed the problem.

No video chat fot certain countries in the middle east and a few other countries. sorry. Chances are you could sideload an app like Searching For Humans, or you can get ReelPortal here http://reelportal.blogspot.com/p/download.html
