I'm not sure if this is the right thread.

I have a 9700 on the BES, my company allows us to install applications the only thing that the IT policy blocks is the "Server Network" & "Security Timer Reset"

I had a broken device and switched it out (new phone replacement).. I am back on the BES, but any applications I install that use the internet are blocked.

For example, Google Maps "The application GoogleMaps has attempted to open an internal connection which is not allowed by your IT Policy"

I have been on the phone with the IT department / BES administrator, they advise me that they are not blocking anything other than access to our internal servers.

I have the permission set to "Allow" on all options except for the two items that are blocked by the IT policy.

I have been a 9700 user since it came out and I never had these problems before, I was able to use Google Maps & weather applications on the same IT policy.

Any thoughts as to what the problem could be?

I suspect based on past experience with friends who bought used devices with IT policies that it is the firewall. Until someone comes along here who knows for sure, see if the firewall is enabled and if so are you able to disable it, though it may turn out the IT policy will not let you disable it. So, the policy may not be blocking apps by name, but in effect by not allowing certain app behaviors.
