Default Yahoo messenger sending issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, this is my first post and I couldn’t find anything specific, I assume this is the right place to ask my question.

I have a Bold 9000 on Orange UK running BBOS Ver. 5.2.0.64 and Yahoo Messenger ver. 2.5.32

About 4-7 days ago Yahoo messenger on my blackberry stopped sending messages, I can connect and receive messages however. I have noticed that when I start the messenger program it doesn’t boot me out of my desktop like it used to.

I have removed the program, and then reloaded the firmware clean before re-downloading the application of blackberry app world.

I notice in a few other places (yahoo answers) and on the app world feedback that others are experiencing similar if not the same issues.

I have also emailed blackberry support describing the issue, but have not had a reply yet.

Does anyone know of a solution for this issue, as I use Yahoo messenger to keep in contact with my wife in the US without the sky high bills of SMS and calls back and forth when I am at work or out in general

Thanks for your time and patience.

I was going to ask if you tried a hard reset (30-second battery pull) until I got down to reading that you removed the app, reloaded the OS, and reinstalled the app.

Just curious, did you try logging off the desktop yahoo messenger and then trying the blackberry yahoo app again?

I'm doubting the problem is on your end, but I really don't know. You could try doing the hard reset now, and resending service books. Maybe the issue on the network side has been fixed but you won't see it until you do a hard reset. But I'm really out on a limb guessing.

If you figure something else out, post an update.

Welcome to the group.

so far, a fresh install, a reboot, re-registering on the network and resending the service books have all drawn blanks. Its to late right now but i think i will call Orange UK's blackberry support staff and see if they are aware of the issue and a fix

I'll post any findings here.

Hi... my wife is using the blackberry tour with verizon, and I'm on my laptop - and we are having the same issues. Seems this happened to a lot of peeps a few days ago.

Does anyone yet have an answer why, or what is causing it??

I can send her messages, and she sees them, but she can't send me anything. Though, interestingly, she CAN send me offline messages when I'm not logged in... and I get those! But I don't want to log out each time I want her to send me a message! haha....

I haven't had a chance to speak to orange yet. I've been eyes deep with my job over the past few days. I haven't forgotten, and hope to get a chance somepoint tomorrow.

Spoke to Orange today (finally had peace to sit down on my lunch-break). They are not supporting it as its "third party software".

does anyone know how to contact RIM in the UK?
