Default 7100 series for Sprint ?

Please Login to Remove!

Walked in to a Verizon store yesterday & played around with 7130e for a bit.I really liked it. I am with Sprint right now w/o contract and have been really happy with their service. Plus Verizon charges way toooooooooo much for BB data plan as compared to Sprint.
My question is, does anybody know if and when Sprint will start offering 7100 series devices?
Talked to a Sprint rep and she said all Sprint had is 7250, however I am not a great fan of that form factor.

I think Nextel has them available- easier transition versus a foreign carrier. I know that the 7250 might not be the most sexy device but it does offer EVDO which is huge.

Sprint traditionally has not been a big blackberry shop so I would guess that you would wait for a while at best.

My BB rep from RIM said "Summer". I hope you're right though, the sooner the better.

Are you willing to use Nextel.
I have a brand new 7520 and very lightly used 7100.
Take your pick.
Also, I have an ulimited calling plan that can transfer over for only 150 a month.

Please folks - Sprint and Nextel, while under one corporate umbrella, are two different cellular technology providers. They sell an iDen 7100i, and the OP asked for 7100 series for Sprint ?. That means a CDMA (1xEVDO) based device. Not an iDen 7100i. A nice, new 7130e, just like Verizon has.

Right?

I'm a sales rep for the iDen side of Sprint Nextel, and though I haven't heard of a 7100 series blackberry being released for the CDMA side, there are supposed to be more phones coming out in the summer for both sides. All we can do is wait pretty much.

There are no iDEN or CDMA specific reps any more. If you sell for Sprint you will know. When's the last time your spoke with your CSM or TSM?

I hear this all the time, but I don't understand. Verizon offers bundled plans making the unlimited BB data $40 at the most, and more like $30 for higher voice plans.

How much does Sprint charge? My understanding is they charge $50 and possibly $45 if you bundle with a voice plan. Am I missing something, or do most people simply assume that Verizon is too much and Sprint is cheaper? From my experience, T-Mobile is the least expensive, then Verizon, then Cingular/Nextel/Sprint tie for the most expensive.

Unlimited is the same between Sprint, VZ and Cingular. TMo is less but again they are the whores of the industry....

Ok, what I meant to say was that I am a retail communications consultant in a corporate Nextel store, and right now the retail stores, though they carry phones for both sides of the network, still specialize in one or the other. In any case, we're told by management that more phones are supposed to come out this summer, so only time will tell.
