Question 7100i reception with bluetooth headset?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been using my free headset for about 2 weeks now. One thing my BB is doing though, is reception can go up and down. For example, I am talking with someone and standing still. I have full reception, and then all of a sudden it goes to x, and I either lose them completely, or I end up having to call them back. Usually I have to move to get better reception, but again I can have an x, and then it changes to full reception. I never noticed it without using the headset, of course I can't see the phone when it is up to my ear. My I860 never went up and down with reception like this, though.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I keep hearing this on the new nextel. I have noticed the decling reception as nextel has increased the bb's it has. The 65/7510's had really decent reception just like regular cell models. My 7520 seems to be a bit weaker (not much). I see this with "bigger " dead zones. They are the same deadzones as noticed in the 7510 but they last longer or are literally bigger requiring me to move further to get signal back.

Anyway, the toss up seems to be you are getting some more battery life in these new models.. BUT I hear the new screen eats that up quickly.

Long story short.. I think the 7100i has less signal strength than the regular cell phones from nextel.

I agree! I used to get a much better signal with my 7520. The signal indicator on the new 7100i is "loco"! You could be talking to somebody clear as it can be and yet it shows you an X. Go figure...

He's correct. I have that same issue at times, with or without ANY headset. IMO, the reception has gone South ever since the merger of Sprint & Nextel. So who knows what will happen in the future?

I hate to even think this, but is Sprint having the same problems? I might have to switch. I live on my phone for work, and it is getting anoying. I talk betweek 3-4000 minutes per month.
