So how come with the new 4.5 os Sprint takes away the option for "roaming always." This was the only way I could use my phone, and now I have to switch back to the 4.3 OS. any suggestions?

Use what works and complain to Sprint. If enough folks complain, maybe it will get re-added in the next update.
