Default rogers and 4.2

Haven't heard anything about rogers bringing out 4.2 on the 8700r's

Does anyone here know what they are up to or when they might release it.

I have been using the 4.2 desktop manager but I really want the handheld code.

Keep watching the forums. There will be a lot of noise made once 4.2 is released for 87xx devices (my guess is January).

The 4.2 JDK / Simulator has been available for sometime now. Download it and give it a whirl if you'd like to see what features (carrier depenant) are available.

You could be waiting a while, Robbers has a rather lengthy Q&A for software code which has been apparent with past OS release there usually one of the last to release OS updates.

Yep. but don't worry, other carriers will release it first and you should be able to install it provided it's for the same device..

just have patience.. 4.2 is not earth shattering.

I have 2 versions of the 4.2 code, been using it for 2 months on a 8707V.
1st Qtr of 07 you should see the new SW.

That is a 3 month window, any way to narrow it down to may be like jan, feb or march?

I sort of figured they were going to be one of the last to release it.

I saw the 4.2 simulator looks good but who know what features they are going to choose.

I am willing to bet by the time they get it out they will also be releasing HSDPA at the same time.
