4 days? Ok, now I've heard it all! Mine lasted the whole day into the evening. And that is with moderate use, a day and a half would be a stretch, so 4 days is just not realistic. But hey, kuddos to u if that's what ur getting!

When I use mine like a Normal Person I'm left with 80% at the end of the day (a few calls, a dozen or so emails, some texting, BBM, etc), so I could see 4 days being possible.
When I'm in addict mode it's a different story, obviously.

I am getting through the day easily, including long phone calls. On the 9000, if I received a phone call at the end of the day, I actually had to determine if the call was important enough to answer because the battery would be fried by the end of the call. Doesn't seem like I need to be so conservative with using the 9700, which will be a nice relief.

I agree. I'm right about where you're at with that. I'm not sure about 4 days but 3 is definitely do-able. I guess it's hard not to get excited. So many other new phones are coming out that for all their bells and whistles, just kill battery life. Berry's are just plain ol' reliable.

I gotta check the settings again. I must have missed the black light option. Would be fun at a party though.

I have to admit the battery life on this 9700 is pretty impressive! I'm on average about 48 hours between charges and that's with heavy SMS, email, talking (through Bluetooth at that), some Wifi and even watching an hour or so of the Slingplayer.
Example, I took it off of the charger on Tuesday afternoon at 1:15. I talked on the phone for about an hour to an hour and a half (and that was on speakerphone), and it's been on stand by since. I've been texting this morning for about an hour. Right now I'm at 50%.

And I should add that my 8900 in Addict Mode would usually make it through a full day, but only barely, sometimes requiring a battery change late in the day.
The 9700 definitely gives me much more margin.

By "Addict Mode" I would assume you are like my daughter who, it would appear, texts 24/7 (even in her sleep I suspect ) because my 8900 would go pretty strong. She now has my hand-me-down 8220 Flip and it seems to keep her quite happy (charging every night of course). The girl is a texting fool
