Rogers Customer Service advised today that they have delayed the 8900 until at least January as there are OS problems similar to that of the Bold when it was released.

your info is from a customer service rep? i'm sorry but i find that hard to believe, that i was delayed as stores have demos and signage... i dont think it is delayed at all

I don't believe this either. I was told they shipped to stores today. I do know there are some problems with the SW, but I haven't heard of a delay.

A few people, including myself, ordered one today.

Rogers is telling everyone 3-7 days until it arrives by UPS.

It appears that Rogers has them on their stock and is taking orders but I called again and they enquired with the warehouse who confirmed that it has been delayed until January. Boy Genuis Report also has an article about this.

After all, the Javelin was "confirmed" by BGR for T-Mobile for last week.

BGR seems to say alot but doesn't really come through. Didn't they also report unlimited data plans for all when the Iphone came out?

They also say Fido in Canada will be getting Blackberries hmmm that hasn't happend either.

Just called Rogers to confirm my order placed yesterday.

They gave me a UPS tracking number and said UPS will be picking up my unit (and I imagine everyone else's who ordered yesterday/today) on Monday after 8pm. At that time the tracking will appear in the UPS system.

I called back up this am and was able to order one. I told the rep that the 2 previous ones had told me that it had been delayed until January and he inidcated that this was not the case but that there was a message in their system up until last night indicating this. Rogers needs to get their sh%$ together....
