Unhappy Help! New Blackberry user can't find his IMEI

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

I'm a brand new blackberry user (be gentle with me, i'm windows mobile convert), and i'm trying to sign up with the Owners Lounge and blackberry.com.

I'm having a real problem though getting through this IMEI issue.

I have a Verizon Wireless Blackberry 7130e, and I can't find its IMEI. The phone ONLY seems to have an ESN and not an IMEI? Is that even possible? I've checked under the battery where the demo shows me to find it, as well as in the Status submenu within the device's options and all its shows is the ESN???

Help please, i'm concerned that I won't be able to get the full use of my device as i've come across a lot of blackberry things that require knowing the devices IMEI.

It's accessible through the device's menu. Assuming it's similar to the 7100i, which I have, if you go to Options > Status - you'll see the number listed there. It's long and has lots of zeros.

Hi Swankmaster_d.

Thats the problem, its NOT in that screen!!
Under status, all I have are the following:

Signal
Battery
File Free
File Total
PIN
ESN (hex)
ESN (dec)

There is NO IMEI.

Under the battery cover, where Blackberry's demo shows the IMEI to be, all I have is the ESN.
Is Verizon different? Did I buy a neutered blackberry?

The IMEI they are wanting needs to be 15 digits... I just added 0000 in front of my ESN (dec) and it allowed me to join. You might want to try this.

Dial *#06#? That works for me, but I am T-Mobile.

The 7130e is a CDMA device. They don't have IMEI numbers.
IMEI numbers are for GSM and UMTS phones.
CDMA devices have an ESN.

Thanks for the update.

Hence why I mentioned, "but I am T-Mobile".
