Gents,

I just heard from my T-Mobile Rep - the new release date for the 8700 is now APRIL 10th.

I just wanted to share.

this for corporate only? i know they started taking orders 2 days ago for the device. i still haven't heard an earlier date, although our rep doesn't seem to want to update me on anything unless i ask him for information (and i don't feel like pestering him to death, either). they mention the pricing? i've heard everything from $199-399 now (from our rep, our Purchasing dept, various executives here who have asked TMO, etc).

Ahh - I can't wait. That's 5 more days. If that's for corporate, when do you suspect they'll be in the retail stores?

Positively, definitely, absolutely either the 10th or the 17th. Unless it isn't.

I would think that there would be a product announcement on TMO's site if it were being released in 5 days, although what do I know about this stuff - nothing!

That's not how it works. Things don't get publicly announced until they are available.

Guess all I can do is keep ordering accessories while the wait continues. :p

one would think that there'd be advertisements if it were to be released in 12 days, as well, but...

i can see it being made available to corporate customers a week early than the retail markets. if memory serves me correct (and granted, its been 1.5 years), that's how it was with the 7100t and then again on the 7290 devices - made available slightly earlier than the direct market.

I don't watch that much television but it doesn't seem like TMO really pushes their work devices all that much. They carry/carried several different kinds of PDAPhones but you wouldn't know it unless you go into the stores and into the dark shadowy back corner somewhere.

UPDATE:

My Rep is going to stop by either today or tomorrow. She already has one and is using it for a few days now...go figure.

She said it is so fast and looks really cool. If it looks any different than the pictures I have posted in the past I will take a picture and upload it.

Thanks,
