Default Downloads/Upload section for APPS/Games?

Please Login to Remove!

Hmm, what would you guys say to another forum that will have the ability to upload to the server your own, or somebody elses game. or application...

Obviously free, and anyone would be able to do it, even if its not your software.

That would create a great environment for downloading valid and nice applications..

Thoughts?

I like the idea of having easy access to good and tested software. So, count my vote as yes. I assume that as long as we are not posting activation keys for shareware or commercial products then there will not be any legal issues. Kind of like our own little download.com.

Let's give it a try!

Default helps build user base

i was super pleased to find this site/club, and i'm sure given how young it is, there is great potential for a fairly large user base. having a download/upload section would contribute greatly to attracting new members. it's a critical mass thing, the more people, the more eyes and minds to solve problems and develop our community.

I'm curious as to the reason behind the "no" vote above. Is it a legal issue? Bandwidth? Decreased productivity?

Most likely a legal thing. If done incorrectly you can open yourself up to creating P2P software swapping forum ie (warez, news reader, etc.) If its going to be a Freeware/Shareware download site it could be a great resource if not the forum could open itself to legal issues.

If all the files are freeware, shareware and trials, I cant open my self to any legal problems, as long as I give credit where credit is due.

That sounds great to me. When would this be available? I\'m anxious to learn how to do a lot more with my BB.
