Default Problem connecting to Bluetooth car kit

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, just received my first ever BB (through my job) and am loving it. However, I have one problem and it is driving me nuts.

I have a generic bluetooth car kit in my car and my wifes car (AUDI) has a built in Bluetooth phone kit. In my wifes car my BB pairs and connects no problem at all, but when I try and connect to the kit in my car it just ain't happening. I can pair the 2 no problem, but every time I try to connect the I keep getting the message: Connection to BT Speaker failed.

My Wife has a Nokia and can pair and connect no problem and I also managed to pair and connect my son's LG and again no problem. This makes me think the problem is with the BB and not the Bluetooth device.

I have tried making the device discoverable and unchecked encryption under general options but still nothing. There is a passkey for the device but I have never been asked for it when pairing the Blackberry the Nokia or the LG, which makes me think it is preprogramed into the device.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to have had this problem so I'm hoping someone out there can give me the answer?!?

Look forward to hearing from you and hopefully one day soon I will be able to help you out too!

Thanks for the reply.

The pass key is pre activated (I think). My BB doesn't ask for a pass key when I pair the 2 and the car kit is displayed on my BB list of paired items. Every time I try to connect however, it just says connection failed. It doesn't ask for a pass key.
