Question Time Warner Roadrunner Email Settings

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings,

I am running into an issue that I am at a loss to resolve.

I purchased two smartphones one for my wife and a Storm 9530 for myself. I was able to setup my Time Warner Roadrunner account with relative ease and messages get to my device quickly even with Outlook running.

I returned the smartphone I purchased for my wife (real long story) and got her a Storm 9530, for the same reason - being able to get Time Warner Runner account email.

Here is the problem: We set up her email similar to mine (separate email account), messages are hitting the correct server and Outlook, but not hitting the device.

I have checked all of the device settings (that I am aware of) and they all match my device.

Before I get on the phone with Verizon or worse Time Warner any insight into this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you need to switch her PIN number to her new Storm and resend the service books.
If you are using the phone to setup, try using the Verizon BIS online account management.

I've never been able to get roadrunner mail on any device (phone or laptop) except for a device that's physically connected to the modem. Roadrunner also told me I can't get that mail from anywhere but home. I don't understand the issue and why I can't get it either.

May be left field, but ...

Roadrunner being proprietary kind of screws you if you ever leave anyway. Ive been forced to change ISPs so many times over the years I cant imagine using there email.

a Gmail, Yahoo or hotmail account is yours for life and also really simple to get anywhere/anytime. and free.

Just to throw it out there for ya ...

Thumbs up Thank You All

Well, after reading the replies and changing a setting on my wife's Outlook, she is now receiving RR email. We compared her setting to my Outlook and it is different, so for all intensive purposes - we have solved this issue.

Thank you everyone who responded.

The person you spoke with at your local cable office basically lied to you. There are multiple ways for you to get your roadrunner email to a blackberry device. Setting the device up to receive such email is rather simple, and even easier to do through the blackberry web site rather than the handset itself.

You have to provide the settings for the BIS to actually connect:

Email address: your_email @ your_area.rr.com(can't post email addresses yet take out the spaces)

User Name: your_email (first part of your email address before the @ symbol)

password: you_set_it

Incoming mail server : pop-server.your_area.rr.com

Outgoing mail server : smtp-server.your_area.rr.com

They haven't as of yet blocked RIM's IP address from accessing their servers so if you use BIS you shouldn't have any problems accessing your email.
