I am sorry. I can't remember where the setting is.
There is a convenience key that you can setup for the lock.

Under security options, use the lock upon holstering

Welcome to the Forums.

If you set a password on it, it will lock after a certain amount of time.

Or you can lock if you set one of the side convenience keys to lock (Options > Screen?keyboard); or by disabling Dial from Homescreen, see here: Home Screen Shortcuts - BlackBerryFAQ

Disable dial from home screen

Press green phone button

Scroll into dial area

Press menu>general options>dial from home screen. Set to NO
You can then press "K" to lock keyboard

I don't use the camera all that much, so I set up the right convenience key to be a 'keyboard lock' rather than the camera. 1 click and it's locked.

also if you dont have any of the language packs installed you can press ALT and ENTER at the same time and it will lock it too. or even stand by mode by holding down the mute button.

Set your password lock, and the lowest timeout is 1 minute.
