Post count might not be an absolute but it does help... Mandatory images would help, along with many other things that would help but are not a guarantee....

Bottom line is it's up to the buyer (who is spending their hard earned money) to check things out and take the risk...

Thats why I posted the how to buy on eBay FAQ... How many eBay buyers do you think follow that FAQ? Not many... images, images, images.... Check IMEI, PIN, ect.....

I do think a minimum post count and mandatory images would help....

This FAQ should also apply to purchases from ANY forum...

When I see a user with less than 5 posts and registered within a few days, I make a point of posting in the BST thread that this user is new, and buyers should ask for eBay or PayPal transaction feedback, at least, as a precaution.

Any member (moderator or not) is welcome to do just that if they see new members selling items here, who have no reputation, to at least alert any potential buyer to "open your eyes".

There was a seller a while back who had a device listed for sale with low post count and recently registered.. In the ad it said NO LOCAL PICK UP

I asked why no local and never got a response...

Huge warning flag to any potential buyer....

I use my gut when I buy on ebay and here on BBF. I ask questions both in forum and via PM/email if something doesn't jive well I move on. I may mis out on a good deal but I would rather mis out on a deal than get taken advantage of.

I purchased an 8800 here not long ago for 125. I was highly cautious........ I asked for specific info from seller and for additional pics.

The seller provided all info I requested. I felt comfortable made the purchase and received the device.

I even asked opinions of a couple other forum members that I trust.

Point is watch your back get all the info you can if something doesn't sound right stay away!
