Thumbs up First Photos Of The BlackBerry Storm 2

Please Login to Remove!

The BlackBerry Storm 2 has just been leaked. What do you think about it?
BlackBerry Storm 2 First Pics Released - SoftSailor

The Storm 2 pictured there is a CDMA phone as it says "Activation Required". The camera is the same, 3.2 megapixel with autofocus.
The Storm 2 looks thinner, and the 4 hard buttons are now touch-sensitive. Its screen looks sharper, and probably the new TruePress technology is better. As the gap between the edges and the screen is smaller, I think that the screen will not be so dust-lover.
There isn't too much difference and I would definitely expect more of it, but... I can see something like a proximity sensor in the top left corner...
This should be out sometime before Christmas. Hopefully, the OS will be better...

It may have been noon when you posted but I guess your respondents are from the Western Hemisphere.

There are far too many threads on the Storm 2, and most of us are sick of them. You also reposted.

Sorry about that. I only check this forum because I only care about the Storm. This is the Storm section, we're talking about the Storm 2, and I didn't see anything related with those leaked shots of Storm 2.
Anyway, how can I close the thread? considering the fact that there are so many threads and you are sick of the Storm 2.

I appreciate the thread as I have not seen any leaked pics until now. I will say the thinner look and new subtle features definately tell
Me this hopefully will be a better storm. I will be there to purchase it upon release.

I am looking forward to taking a look at this new Storm. I do hope that they have learned from their design flaws on the first Storm. Honestly, I would be perfectly happy with a non clicking multi-touch display. However that's just me.

Don't rush to say that. Honestly... I am waiting for the official specs. Also I bought my Storm like a blind man.. I didn't test it or something, and I won't make the same mistake again.

Exactly, I am tired of taking my hand off the phone when texting, but I think this is just a problem with the OS just like in most touchscreen cellphones. I mean... the touch sensors are there aren't they? The design does indeed look sharper, but we'll see more soon.

I agree with that, pirlok. I'll be awaiting further judgement before rushing in to buy a Storm 2.

Does it have WiFi?

If not it's a brick as far as I'm concerned.

That's a great question, I know it's a highly requested feature.

It is thinner. As for the WiFi, I would love to come with the Storm 2. However, most of us have an unlimited data plan... but then again I hate internet speed when it's not 3G and when you're in a building where the radio signal is poor and so it happens to find a WiFi hotspot in that building...

was just checking out engadget.com and they are saying that its going to be a full touch screen and they are dropping the surepress screen. which i think would be much better. if the storm 2 comes out with a screen like the iphone it would be perfect . the touch screen on the storm 9500 or the 9530 was not that good and if you really have to start playing with the calibration of the screen then its going to suck and fail. that is one thing that apple got perfect was the touch screen is flawless and i hate apple . cant wait for the new storm to come out and test it out.

The article (along with the one on BGR) both state that it has WiFi.

I'd love to learn more about the difference between SurePress and TruePress.
