Default Repair or Remove?

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to install a new OS .172 from .75 and after i run the download file i get a box that pops up and says BB device software v4.7.0 for the BB 9530...repair or remove?
what do i do?
please help!

How are you installing the OS? Are you using Desktop Manager?

I would recommend using Loader.exe.

No desktop mamager isnt even up right now. it is closed down.

Good! Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and you should see a vendor.xml. delete that file. While you're in that folder you should also see Loader.exe

Try running that.

should my phone be plugged into the computer? and all i see is a loader file it doesnt say loader.exe...actually alot of loader files.

Yes, you need to connect your phone to a rear USB port on your PC. Not into a USB hub.

i deleted it but i dont see loader.exe just loader
also the version for ALL of those apps is 4.7.0.52 does this matter?

That's the one to use. You simply have extensions hidden.

after i double click to install it i get a box that says preparing to install then i get welcome to install shield wizard for BB device software v4.7.0 for the BB 9530.
is this right?

That sounds like you're installing the OS on your PC and not on the device.

What directory are you in?
