looks good... i've never tried youmail before. signed up for an account and then grabbed vymail and all appears to be working well.... playing through the speakerphone works fine in .83.

it'd be great if the VyMail icon could show the red asterisk when there are new messages just like with Messages, Facebook, GoogleTalk, etc. Nice job on the app!

Anyone please help.

When someone calls and gets my voicemail the hear this: "your call is not in service, message MIA9801"

I have a 9530 on TMO. My setting appear to be correct in Vymail as well as Youmail. Do my settings in send key>menu>options>call forwarding have anyting to do with it...cause in there I cant seem to delete the Fusion # for the call forwarding number.

Cool app. I don't have a Storm, does this app work on other BB or just the Storm?

Perfect! I was just considering leaving youmail after 2.5 years to try out (and pay for of course) Verizon VVM. Great Job!

Is the speakerphone issue a bug in those versions of the software that RIM will hopefully fix or did they do it by design?

Is there anyway possible that this app would be able to alert the phones VM notification settings in the future?

This is a bug with the OS. Apparently .83 works fine.

So I'm sure it does, but I'd just like to confirm that Vymail uses data to retrieve messages - correct?

One small issue I had with it...

I use XM Mobile while at work via headphones. With VyMail installed, the XM will only come through the handset speaker. I set VyMail to speakerphone and that did not change XM coming through the handset speaker. I uninstalled VyMail and XM instantly went back to coming through the headphones/speakerphone.

I'm not sure exactly where the issue would be (and I may try to install it again just to see if it occurs a second time).

[edit: I re-installed VyMail. I immediately checked XM Mobile. It worked properly. I called and left myself a voice mail. I sync'd VyMail and listened to the voice mail via the program. It came out via my handset speaker. I deleted the voice mail, closed VyMail, and went back into XM Mobile. XM Mobile again comes out only via my handset speaker. It looks like once VyMail uses the handset speaker, all audio is then trapped to that source.]

1) Sign up for YouMail - it will walk you through how to set up your phone so your VM goes to them instead of Verizon (you'll need to call a number on your phone to accomplish this) YouMail :)) Voicemail You Love

2) Use the link above to install vymail application on your phone.

3) Open the vymail program on your phone and open options (use the BB button), double check your phone # (it should be correct) and add the PIN you used when setting up YouMail.

At least that's all I had to do.

This is a cool application. I pay for the message transcription in YouMail and it even shows the transcription on the visual voicemail page. Thanks for the app!

Do you need to pay for the transcription service from youmail to make this work?

sorry quick q here...um doesn't Youmail offer VVM itself? I just signed up and it says that i can view my voice message by going to http: slash slash m.youmail.com from my phone. Of course this requires a data plan...
So does this application not require a data plan?
Also, question/suggestion... do the pics of the ppl that show up on Youmail's vvm also show up on this app? If not, that would be a great edition
Thanks again!

There is a fee for the transcription service. Youmail itself is free, but if you want to get a text message with your voice mail transcribed, there is a fee.
